WAVE alumna, Homeschool student

Phoenix is a homeschool student from Waiʻanae and an alumna of HawaiiKidsCAN’s WAVE program. As an ‘Ōiwi (native Hawaiian) artist, her work advocates for the Hawaiian culture & language, survival of species, science and education. Her works have been honored internationally in international film festivals, Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, Pele Awards and as a global contributor on Wikimedia Commons. She has participated in numerous HawaiiKidsCAN programs and partnerships, including the HawaiiKidsCAN Student-Led Candidate Forum 2018, Children & Youth Summit, Dreamhouse Ewa Beach student leadership camp, Schools of the Future Conference, Teach for America Social Impact Summit, Spark & Inspire, “Hot Ticket” in Midweek, “What Schools Could Be in Hawaii” podcast, Hawaii Votes By Mail ‘20 (PSA), Hawaii Education Innovation Showcase 2020, Hawaii Youth Advocacy Film Contest and Youth Community Change Forums. She has also testified in-person before the Hawaii State Legislature and Board of Education in support of HawaiiKidsCAN priorities.
