With 19 years of experience across California, Tennessee, and Hawai‘i, Kawika brings a people-first, student-centered approach grounded in strong relationships, shared leadership, and a deep commitment to community. Raised in Kāne‘ohe, O‘ahu, his educational journey has included leadership and learning experiences with the Hawai‘i Department of Education, Kamehameha Schools, the University of Southern California, Accelerate Institute, and the University of Hawai‘i. He is passionate about cultivating school environments rooted in joy, curiosity, growth, equity, and restorative practices, where students, educators, and families feel valued, supported, and empowered. Guided by na‘au and data-informed decision making, Kawika believes lasting change happens through authentic connection and collective responsibility.
