HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A free event scheduled for Sunday aims to help Honolulu parents learn about local schools for their children.

The Hawaii School Expo runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Jan. 25 at the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum. The expo will take place inside the Atherton Halau.

Parents can speak with representatives from more than 35 public, charter, and private schools in the region.

Attendees can also participate in balloon art, face painting, and complimentary snacks.

HawaiiKidsCAN, a nonprofit organization that spreads information about schools, is organizing the event to coincide with National School Choice Week.

Free tickets to the entire museum have already sold out, but families can still enter through the public ticketed admissions process, said nonprofit leaders.

For more information, visit the HawaiiKidsCAN website.
