The pandemic underscored how big the gap in digital equity truly is, and for many students in Hawaii, this gap affected their ability to attend school and thrive in their education. David Sun-Miyashiro launched the initiative Wi-Fi on Wheels to get internet connectivity to students in highly impacted areas like rural and underserved neighborhoods to help bridge that gap.
