Students and educators from Co-operation Ireland recently visited O‘ahu and Punahou as part of an exchange program facilitated by Punahou alumnus David Sun-Miyashiro ’04 of HawaiiKidsCAN and Punahou’s Davis Democracy Initiative.

Co-operation Ireland is a peace-building organization dedicated to addressing conflict legacies, such as the 30-year Northern Ireland conflict that ended with a peace accord 25 years ago. The group focuses on fostering collaboration among people from diverse backgrounds, with a particular emphasis on youth.

The four students from Co-operation Ireland represented both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. During their weeklong visit in early September, they met with legislators at Washington Place and spent a day at Punahou engaging with students and teachers across campus.
